Our Story
Kapoor's Carpets has undergone significant changes since it came into existence, but it’s their Journey of Trust since 1950, which help them become the Carpet Empire it is today. Here, you will discover an abundance of high-quality products, from 'Our Collector's Rugs' to our 'Custom Rugs'.
We are an established manufacturer with a history going back to 1963 and ever since then, we have not only expanded our reach within India, but have also catered to retailers, distributors and resellers across United States & European Union.
Journey of Trust
1950- 1963 Our journey of trust begins with Mr. Nand Lal Kapoor and his younger brother Mr. Hirday Narain Kapoor, as the two moved to Bhadohi a well known carpet district in the year 1950 from their native city Jaunpur & it was their common vision that led to the origin of the business in the 1950s. Both these emminent personalities believed that it's the ratio of WE's to I's, which will be the indicator of the development of the team and the company & hence, Innovation, inspiration and drive towards excellence, became the part of the preamble for our family.
1964- 1978 The company opened the doors for its first family member, Mr. Vinay Kumar Kapoor the elder son of Mr. Hirday Narain Kapoor in 1964 and together they laid the foundation stone for Kapoor's Carpets in 1973. Their ethos, principles and foresightedness weaved the pathway for the company to grow to newer heights.
1979 – 1998 In the year 1979 Mr. Niroop Kapoor joined the family business and he along with his elder brother Mr. Vinay Kapoor solidified the mark of Kapoor's Carpets with their wealth of information on rugs of all kind, to create art that's timeless, that inspires joy and are not just pleasing to eyes but touch the soul of each and every customer.
1999- till date
This was a landmark year in the history of Kapoor's Carpets, as the reigns of the business was handed over to the 3rd generation of the family in Mr. Ruchir Kapoor (son of Mr. Vinay Kumar Kapoor) Mr. Ruchir too adapted to market trends; consistenly improved the quality and went on to open a new branch in the pink city Jaipur in 2003.
And, most recently in 2010 -the company saw the entry of their youngest member Mr. Abhishek Kapoor (Son of Mr. Niroop Kapoor) – he brings with him the fervour and vitality to the company because of which there isn't a dull moment at The Kapoor's Carpets.
The company now operates via two units offering handcrafted carpets with timeless design, contemporary functionality and extra ordinary quality, which is why today Kapoor's Carpets is internationally recognised as purveyors of exquisite carpets and woven art.

Our Artisians
Our Artisans turn fluid thought from a blank canvas into a woven art, their stimulus may be original, or may be inspired by anything, whether it’s fashion, nature, art or culture, but when it comes to weaving a carpet they first understand the various aspects that govern the need, the personality of the space, colours, physical attributes such as size, and much more. They determine the qualitative production techniques for just one thing - an exceptional carpet that’s truly one of a kind.
